She is an Associate Professor of Management at the University of Catania and has held visitingpositions at the University of Florida, EDHEC Family Business Centre, IPAG Business School, and CeFEO Jönköping University. Serving as a Guest Editor for the Journal of Family Business
Strategy, she led a Special Issue on “Advancing Diversity Research in Family Business”. Her research has been published in international journals, such as the Journal of Family Business Strategy, the European Journal of Innovation Management, and the Journal of Management and
Governance. Her research interests primarily revolve around family firms, with a recent focus on gender diversity in the governance of family firms, and the management of technological and social innovation across multiple levels of analysis. She is working at the European project GRINS_Growing Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable. At the AOM Conferences in Anaheim (2016) and Atlanta (2017), she co-organized PDWs with a focus on a governance approach of emotions for meaningful entrepreneurial and family businesses. Development Workshop on “Advancing Gender Diversity Research in Family Business”, in 2020.
Beyond her academic roles, she is the Founder and CEO of the Academic Spin-Off, Connessi In (https://connessin.it/), which employs innovative theater techniques to enhance decision-making processes and promote D&I in organizations.
